For 30 years, Dr. Emmett Brown had perfected his flux capacitor, a device which makes time travel possible, and now he had installed it in an aluminum-body sports car. After a successful test run, he was ready to make history by visting the future, but events would unfold that instead made his young friend Marty McFly the world's first time-traveler, stranding him 30 years in the past.
